Bored at Home

I feared this would happen after I came home for the summer. I hate to say my prescience proved correctly in this instance. While I have generally been working 8-hour days at Giant, my nights have been spent in almost complete boredom. I get off work no later than 7 p.m., come home, eat dinner and watch the Orioles. But after the game, I have nothing to do. I usually spend it watching TV and Seinfeld season four DVD's. It's not an awful way to spend an evening or two here and there, but when it's every night, it gets a little tiresome.

There aren't too many people who are here in Maryland with me, and those that are seem to be busy most of the time. (Some just don't seem to want to hang out, and some don't respond. The latter group are the ones who are the most frustrating.)

Oh well. At least the Orioles are still winning baseball games. That makes watching them in June tolerable again after seven years of losing. I honestly and genuinely think they can continue winning. They're only going to get healtheir with the returns of Luis Matos, Erik Bedard, Brian Roberts, Larry Bigbie and Javy Lopez. They've given up the least amount of runs in the AL East and they've scored the second most. Only Boston has scored more times (only two more, in fact). They could be the real deal. And it would be refreshing to see teams like the Orioles and White Sox in the playoffs. Hell, if Texas could hold on to first place in the West, we could see a playoff picture with the O's, Chisox and Rangers. That would be great.

On a completely unrelated note, I want to see Cinderella Man. I've received two good reviews from a couple of friends of mine. I look forward to seeing it. Speaking of movies, Episode III was kickass. I knew watching Episodes I and II would finally payoff in some epic fashion. In my opinion, Episode III is the second-best movie of the Star Wars sestet. Only Empire ranks higher in my book.
