Working six days a week. I work eight hours a day on both Saturday and Sunday and five hours on Friday nights, which would annoy me even more if I actually had stuff to do. But, it isn't a terrible place to work, and it's money. (Although, my grocery help is pretty awful. Today, on a Sunday, they took a break that lasted almost two hours. That's unfathomable to me. But, it's also expected on their part.)
Anyway, this week I'm working at a camp from 8 a.m. - noon Monday through Friday, then going into work from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. A full week ahead. I'm sure I'll be assed out by 10 p.m. every night (which, coincidentally, is the exact time at which the Orioles will have lost another game).
C'est la vie. Mais, en verite, ca va bien. (J'adore la langue francais. J'espere que j'aie pu suivre plus de classes.)
Random Lyrics
The Roots -- Sacrifice
CHORUS:
I tell you one lesson I learned
If you want to be something in life
You ain't gonna get it unless
You give a little bit of sacrifice
Ooohh, sometimes before you smile you got to cry
You need a heart that's filled with music
If you use it you can fly
If you want to be high
Nas -- Nothing Lasts Forever
Your favorite restaurants and favorite stores, they tore 'em down
Turn 'em into shopping malls the hood is like a ghost town
Haunted by souls who thought that time stood still
Just live your life to the fullest, never look back, it's real
Everything must eventually come to an end
So try to savor your moments, cuz time flies don't it
The beauty of life, you gotta make it last for the better
Cuz nothin' lasts forever, ya know
And finally, to all those radio rappers out there (a group in which I very happily place 50 Cent, whose latest album is complete garbage, and Jay-Z), some lyrics from "What They Do" by the Roots.
The Roots -- What They Do
Yo, yo
Lost generation, fast paced nation
World population confront they frustration
The principles of true hip-hop have been forsaken
It's all contractual and about money makin
Pretend-to-be cats don't seem to know they limitation
Exact replication and false representation
You wanna be a man, then stand your own
To MC requires skills, I demand some shown
I let the frauds keep frontin
And roam like a celluar phone far from home
Givin crowds what they wantin
Offical hip-hop consumption, the 5th thumpin
Keepin ya party jumpin with an original somethin
Yo, I dedicate this to the one dimension-al
No imagination, excuse for perpetration
My man came over and said, "Yo we thought we heard you"
Joke's on you; you heard a bitin-ass crew but um..

Working six days a week is aggravatin' as hell because I have two work shirts ... and I work outside at a pool, which means I have to do laundry three times a week - just to have something to wear to work. As bad as that is when I work five days straight, it was WAY worse this week because I worked five days last week, went to las montagnes for a wonderful relaxing day and a half- only to rush back to a dirty work shirt and an early start to a six-day work week full of early mornings and long hours with sopping wet children! Oh well - Today I got paid $8 an hour to sit in the sun and paint garden pots.
Yes, the laundry thing is quite annoying. I only have one shirt for Giant, and it's washed pretty much every day. It annoys the hell out of me.
