Pro Bowl Nonsense

It's an absolute travesty that Michael Vick was named an All-Pro quarterback today. I understand that the NFC had a dearth of talent at the QB position, but Vick is an AWFUL choice. Here are his numbers: 183-337, 2,136 yds, 13 TDs. How is that Pro Bowl caliber?

Now, I usually advocate fan voting because I think the people who pay the salaries deserve some say in whom they want to see on the field. But this is ridiculous. If I recall correctly, the NFL takes into account fan voting, coach voting and player voting. I can only assume that the fan voting is what pushed Vick over the top. Now, I don't want to sound like a complete homer, but there's a QB in Washington who's more deserving than Vick. Mark Brunell's numbers are: 246-418 2,797 yds, 20 TDs, 8 INTs.

I think fan voting should continue, but I think there should be one or two final choices that could be trumped and then replaced by players and coaches around the league. The first one to go should be the overrated Vick.
